From spending less money to celebrating all weekend long, Friday weddings do not disappoint!

More Bang for your Buck
Is it too good to be true? Lucky for you, it’s not! We offer lower minimums and per person price points for Friday weddings! Our Fabulous Friday package might be the best deal in the city and includes the catering, bar, and added vendors such as a DJ, Photographer and wedding cake, all for a great price! Most other vendors will offer deals for Friday wedding dates as well.

Less Competition for Vendors
Saturday dates tend to be so competitive and let’s face it, there are only so many to go around, especially in the popular months! Enjoy the beauty of your preferred season, while also snagging your first choice of vendors without the hassle!

Helpful hint: Send save the dates out as soon as your date is set, specifying the wedding is on a Friday to give your guests plenty of notice so they can plan accordingly.

Spend the whole weekend celebrating!
Start the weekend off with a celebration (Friday night party vibes are strong), and your guests will love you for allowing them the rest of their weekend to relax! Friday weddings also call for a laid-back post wedding day brunch and you can spend more time with your out of town guests before taking off on your honeymoon!

Timing
We recommend starting your Friday wedding ceremony at 5:30pm or 6:00pm so your guests don’t need to rush after work. It will also give out of town travelers some extra time to get there for the festivities. Even if some guests can’t make it to the ceremony, they can still join in for the cocktail hour and reception but be understanding - some people may not be able to get out of obligations, and that’s okay too.

Break Tradition
Why not? It’s your day, and you should do what works best for you and your husband or wife to be! The people who love you will make it work for their schedules and wouldn’t miss it for the world!

Weddings can easily be one of the biggest events in someone's life, and it shouldn't be a surprise since it marks the start of a new and exciting chapter that's filled with love.

In today’s society, we can see a true blend of both sides’ tastes and the creation of some new customs, breaking some of the “regular” traditions that are well-known. Weddings now pave the way as the beginning of a new life together to also showcase some new evolvements from the historical conventions.

Whether it is a long journey from another state or a short trip across the river, families travel to be with each other during the holidays. Yes, someone has to be the host. It’s been that way since the dawn of modern times. We have all been there; your brother, sister-in-law and the kids have just arrived. Hugs and kisses abound, coats are taken, beverages are offered and there’s a feeling of familiar holiday excitement in the air. The adults do the catch up chatter about the drive (or flight), work, sports and life in general as the kids excitedly show their cousins their latest apps & social media escapades. Even the dogs sense the energy in the room and are engaged in a rousing game of fetch. All you want to do is relax and chat, but you need to get your apron on again and get back into the kitchen because that bird isn’t going to cook itself. In addition to the daunting task of actually preparing the food, you have most likely been stressed at some point, for weeks prior. What should the menu include? Should you stick with the family traditions or try something new? Where can you get all new placements and napkins two days before the holiday without breaking the bank? Bella Sera is here to take the stress out of prepping and cooking so you can spend more time with your family and more time browsing for the perfect place setting online. Our Thanksgiving and Christmas catering includes all the favorites, tastefully prepared by our expert culinary team and ready to be simply reheated and served. A la carte items are available, but the real showstopper is our complete meal which includes enough options to please even the pickiest family members. It’s traditional, with tiny twists. You can even tell everyone all about your “new secret recipes you spend hours sourcing, preparing and cooking” and your secret is safe with us!

Maybe you’ve been planning your dream wedding for a decade, or maybe you just started. You might be most excited about finding the perfect dress (or jumpsuit , for the on-trend bride), or fantasizing about a jaw-dropping venue . But something you should add to your list of Wedding To-Dos is “consider guest accommodations.” Whether guests will be staying with you, your family, or in a hotel, we’ve done most of the thinking for you… after all, wedding planning should be stress-free. Plus, it’s a great chance to impress the future in-laws. Hosting at home? If you’re considering the more intimate and affordable option of hosting your out-of-town guests in your home, you’ll want to ensure they’re going to be comfortable and relaxed. Sure, your house or apartment isn’t a hotel, but that doesn’t mean you can’t provide thoughtful and stylish accommodations that would put Martha Stewart to shame. 1. Give them their own space: What’s nicer than being able to close a door behind you when you’re ready for a little solo time? If you don’t have a guest room, try a stylish room divide r to give visitors a private space they’ll love. 2. Make sure there’s easy access to food and drinks: Bottled water and some snacks are never a bad thing, plus guests won’t have to tiptoe around in the middle of the night looking for a water glass. 3. Identify nearby things to do: You’re going to be busy. If guests need to kill time for a couple of hours before the big event, provide a list or map of nearby restaurants, cafes, or farmers markets they can explore. They’ll probably fall in love with the area so much, they’ll ask to stay longer (It’s okay to politely decline). 4. Make sure everything is clean clean: This might sound like a no-brainer, but it’s easy to get used to a slightly weird smell in your downstairs bathroom or wine stain on the countertop. If cleaning is just *not* your strong suit, bribe your type-A friends with a 6-pack or, best case scenario, hire a housekeeper for a day. 5. Make breakfast an event: Who doesn’t love waking up to the smell of bacon? Get your guests excited and ready for the day with a fun (and maybe boozy) breakfast. Today is the day! 6. Take time to appreciate them: This weekend is all about you, but your guests have probably done a lot to get there, including taking a day off from work. Take a moment to tell them how much you appreciate them celebrating this special day with you.

Wedding cake isn't for everyone. For couples who have allergies, couples who don't particular like cakes, or couples who don't want to spend the $450+ on a single pastry , there are good alternatives. Really, just about anything can become a wedding cake if it's placed in a tiered structure with some kind of topper. These five, tasty, alternative wedding cakes look lovely when placed in tower form at the center of a reception table. Pies, Pies and More Pies For many people, pies are the natural alternative to cakes. One pie is often not as large as a single wedding cake, so for a standard sized ceremony, many pies are required to feed all guests. Choosing a range of pies, from fruit-based pies to custards, helps ensure that all guests will find something they like. You can spread your pies around the dessert table, but be sure to choose a principal pie, one that stands out as the pie for the couple. You can even place a decoration at the top of the pie, such as a statue of a couple or a whimsical ornament. Wedding Pancakes Pancakes are easy to stack, fun to look at, and can be topped with anything. A stack of wedding pancakes can even be tiered. Pile the largest pancakes on the bottom, medium-diameter pancakes in the middle and the smallest pancakes on the top. This is a smart choice for couples who don't want a big party or flashy decorations, but rather, a nice brunch with close friends following a morning ceremony. Pancakes are humble but sweet. They're easy to decorate with flowers, fruit or a little bride and groom statue. A Tower of Donuts Do you have a sweet tooth? Are you hoping to keep your wedding ultra casual? Why not serve your guests a tower of donuts and coffee? Donuts make a wonderful wedding cake because they're inexpensive and colorful. You'll save a ton of money too, by bypassing the expensive bakery. Tiered Cupcakes So you can't decide on the type of wedding cake to get for your guests? Why not offer a range of cupcake choices instead? Set up your cupcakes on a tiered structure and arrange them by type. Ask the baker to paint a symbol or sign on the top of each cupcake to indicate what type of cake it is. At the top of the tiers of cupcakes, place a small one- or two-tiered cake for the bride and groom. Delicious Local Fruit If you're getting married on a tropical island, this colorful display will make your guests’ mouths' water. Stack the fruit up high enough so that it rises almost above the eyes of the guests. For ease of use, include fruits that can be easily picked from the stack, like grapes. Also, sample all the fruits before picking the type of fruit to be in your tower. At the top of the tower, place an exotic flower to provide focus. Guests and couples on a diet will truly appreciate this healthy alternative to a wedding cake! Contact Bella Sera Planning your wedding? Contact Bella Sera for an appointment.
