Job Summary
Bella Sera Event Villa is seeking a skilled, dependable, and hands-on Sous Chef to support the Executive Chef in the daily operation of the kitchen. This role is ideal for a strong culinary professional who can lead by example, help manage kitchen staff, and maintain high standards for food quality, consistency, cleanliness, and execution. The Sous Chef will play an important role in food production for weddings, banquets, catering, and special events while helping ensure smooth service and a well-organized kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Executive Chef in the daily operation of the kitchen
• Help lead, train, and motivate kitchen and production staff
• Assist with food prep, line execution, plating, and service as needed
• Maintain high standards for food quality, consistency, and presentation
• Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and kitchen safety procedures are followed at all times
• Help manage inventory, product rotation, receiving, storage, and overall organization
• Support portion control, recipe adherence, and cost-conscious kitchen practices
• Assist with staff scheduling and help maintain a productive, team-oriented work environment
• Step into leadership responsibilities in the Executive Chef’s absence
• Help oversee kitchen closing procedures and daily cleanliness standards
• Support banquet, wedding, and catering execution in a high-volume event environment
• Contribute ideas for menu items, production improvements, and kitchen efficiency

Skills

• Previous culinary experience required; kitchen leadership experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen operations
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to train staff and hold team members accountable to kitchen standards
• Experience with inventory, product handling, and food cost awareness
• Reliable, professional, and willing to work alongside the team
• Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
