Bella Sera is a state-of-the-art special event & entertainment venue.

Our spacious facility will accommodate up to 400 guests, as well as small intimate gatherings, corporate meetings and events. Combining the broad expertise of our team and a passion for creativity, we can create any look, feel and environment you desire. Whether it is at the Bistro at Bella Sera, our BBQ or our internationally recognized catering, one bite and you will taste the passion that Chef Guiseppe has for his dishes. 

Bella Sera offers tasteful catering (for both large and small) by turning ideas into reality, using tasteful and creative touches. Enjoy a unique entertainment experience with Bella Sera’s barbeque catering or have lunch at Bella Sera’s Bistro, open weekdays from 11am to 2pm.

Meet the Team

JASON CAPPS

OWNER 

Jason is a certified executive chef and owner of Bella Sera, a special event venue and catering company located in Pittsburgh's South Hills. A third-generation food service entrepreneur, Jason launched his first catering business in 1999 and has become one of the most respected caterers in the region. In 2006 he built Bella Sera, located in Canonsburg near Southpointe, and became Pennsylvania’s first caterer and event venue certified by the Green Restaurant Association. Bella Sera blends Jason's cultural heritage with his years of experience developed in world-class 

Bella Sera blends Jason's cultural heritage with his years of experience developed in world-class  establishments such as Nemacolin Woodlands, Kiawah Island and Seabrook Island Resorts in Charleston, SC.

In 2009 Jason pioneered the Market Square renovation with Bella Sera Urban Trattoria, Pittsburgh's first certified green restaurant. His latest endeavor is Bistro at Bella Sera, a tasteful weekday lunch buffet. Jason also teaches cooking classes for those looking to enhance their culinary skills.

Jason has been honored annually from 2008 thru 2012 as a Star Award Recipient by the International Caterers Association. In 2009, Bella Sera was named one of Pittsburgh Business Times “100 Fastest Growing Businesses”, and in 2010 he was awarded with the esteemed title, “Restaurateur of the Year”. In addition, Jason regularly appears on KDKA Live to share his delicious recipes.

In addition to his business ventures, Jason actively serves on the committees of The United Way, The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, United Cerebral Palsy/Pathways, CASA, and routinely volunteers and donates to various non-profits.

When you meet Jason for the first time, you'll be struck not only by his incredible passion for food but also his passion for family. A proud father, Jason enjoys traveling and spending quality time with his two daughters Lily and Lauren. He also enjoys skydiving, snowboarding, cycling and sporting clays.

GIUSEPPE DI GRISTINA

EXECUTIVE CHEF

Born in Sicily, Executive Chef Giuseppe Di Gristina came to the United States at the age of 13 with his mother – who already had family ties in Pittsburgh, making him an honorary native of the “Burgh”. His original master plan was to study International Business with a Culinary Arts as a secondary field, but as destiny would demand, he soon found his way on the fast track to becoming one of this country's most exciting and diverse chefs.

In 2001, Giuseppe's intense desire to continue his culinary expedition and training took him to the coast of sunny California where he held Executive Chef positions at Brio Tuscany Grill in Newport Beach and Crivello Ristorante in Wildomar.

 In 2006, Giuseppe became Chef/Owner of Raviolis! Italian Bistro winning "Best Restaurant" for 3 years and "Best Chef" in 2009-2010.

Pledging to return to his “American” origins, Chef Giuseppe returned to Pittsburgh and found himself at home in the beautiful Tuscan environment of Bella Sera. Giuseppe brings passion and experience beyond his years to the elegant tables of Bella Sera through his culinary creations.

JACKY 
FIFE

GENERAL MANAGER
Jacky has been an employee of Bella Sera since 2006. She spent her childhood growing up in Peters Township then graduated from Pennsylvania Culinary with a degree in  Restaurant Management.
Restaurant Management. Having spent over 20 years in the hospitality industry, Jacky brings her in depth knowledge and experience to all aspects of the operation of Bella Sera including weddings, catering, corporate events and financial management. Jacky is instrumental in bringing the character and culture of Bella Sera to all of our clients.

ERIN LEVERS

OFFICE MANAGER / EVENTS COORDINATOR / MARKETING
Erin has been with Bella Sera since 2012. She enjoys working with our clients to plan everything from 1st Birthday Parties to Weddings. Although she has her hand in many areas of Bella Sera her priority is to cater to each client’s needs and making them feel comfortable and worry free. She takes great pride in focusing on every final detail, no matter how big or small the event, to make sure each event goes off flawlessly.

LAUREN 
MADISON

WEDDING SALES MANAGER
Lauren has always had a passion for the hospitality industry and working with people since a young age. She graduated from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a degree in 
Hospitality Management. Shortly after, she moved to Washington D.C. on a whim. She worked as a Catering Sales Manager and Wedding Specialist at a local hotel venue for six years, which is where she fell in love with the wedding industry and all of the details that go into creating the perfect wedding day. Lauren has been with Bella Sera for over three years and is ready to assist you in planning the most amazing day of your life, giving you peace of mind to relax and enjoy the ride! Lauren has been married to her husband Dave for four years, and her first child, Leah Cathryn, was born in September of 2016. MEGAN PERRI

Megan joined the team at Bella Sera in 2014. She grew up in the Pittsburgh area and earned a degree in Communication Studies from Kent State University. With over 8 years experience working with customers and clients across multiple industries, Megan adds dedication and client focus to the team at Bella Sera. She has always had a passion for special events and enjoys working closely with clients to ensure every detail of their event is just as they imagined. Megan currently resides in the South Hills with her husband and mini goldendoodle puppy and enjoys shopping and spending time with family and friends.

DAN 
BICKERTON

BANQUET MANAGER
Dan is a resident of the South Hills. He is a graduate of California University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s degree in Tourism Studies with minors in both Business and 
Management. Dan is currently completing his Master’s in Business Administration. He brings his experience working at local Event Venues and Hotels in the Pittsburgh area to Bella Sera. Dan enjoys working with and meeting new clients. His favorite part about the events industry is that every event is unique and different, which is what makes every day exciting. Outside of work, Dan is a member of the Meeting Professionals International (MPI), Pittsburgh Chapter where he holds a position on their Board of Directors.
